Granola, I'm tired of the stupid comments about Dell buying IBM and vice versa. Look at the dollar amounts involved and it is clear that neither is going to happen. Joint ventures are a different story. Too much BS on this thread.

Regards,
John

Hi GRANOLA! RE: employment contracts not being engraved in gold. I actually think they usually are engraved in gold. That doesn't mean they can't be broken, just that the "employee" usually walks away with stockholders gold if it is broken <gggg>. Just as 5fer and the CPQ shareholders who are watching 5fer walk off with millions after leaving the company in a shambles, as regards both their market position and their credibility.

IBM/Dell merger-buyout rumors are simply more nervous fluff. I do think that more deals between the two will be forthcoming in the not too distant future. I also think we will see some fairly good movement in Dell in the next two weeks, starting with a FOMC relief rally tomorrow and helped by Dell's strong numbers after the bell. I also have a feeling that there will be some interesting announcements following the release of 1Q data.

It looks like I'll be up in the Seattle area until mid-July and don in S.F. about the third week of July. If you're going to be around maybe we could meet. You show me your favorite restaurant and I'll buy you dinner! Cheers and aloha.
