Drilling commences in Yukon...

TROYMIN RESOURCES LTD.

NEWS RELEASE JULY 8TH, 1999

DRILLING COMMENCES ON YUKON PROJECT

Troymin Resources Ltd (TYR-ME, ASE) is pleased to announce that drilling has commenced on the Prospector Mountain property consisting of 272 claims located 88 km northwest of Carmacks or 57km southeast of the Casino Porphyry Cu-Au-Mo deposit. The property is under option from Almaden Resources Corporation (AMH-VSE)

Two types of mineralization have been observed on the property: precious metal veins and porphyry Cu-Mo-Au. The veins generally occur in the andesitic volcanic rocks as Au-bearing quartz-tourmaline veins and are associated with quartz-feldspar porphyry dykes which indicate a mineralizing source at depth believed to be of epithermal origin based upon
work completed to date.

The porphyry-style mineralization occurs as a N-S trending zone of pyrite-sericite- clay-tourmaline-quartz alteration that is marked by anomalous Cu-Mo in soils. The zone, known as the Lightning Grid, has been traced by mapping, magnetometer and IP geophysical surveying and is up to 800 m long and 300 m wide. Grab samples taken by the
Yukon Geological Survey have returned values up to 5.01 g/t Au and 0.63% Cu. The IP survey has identified a chargeable zone that is increasing in strength and width at depth.

A second target on the property is at the No Sweat Grid where a highly anomalous Cu-Mo soil anomaly is coincident with a broad zone of IP chargeability.

The over 400 metre drill program will evaluate this highly prospective property and is expected to be completed in 2 weeks. Results will be released upon the completion of the
lab analysis.
