Aside from MRL, does anyone see any high volume carnage
in the oil patch? The stuff I'm watching is holding up very
well, volume very light.

To All,

Does anyone see the MRL bloodbath today as a buying opportunity? With all this talk of diminishing gas reserves and the expected uptick in the shallow water GOM, I would think that Marine is in excellent position to ride the recovery wave.

For what it's worth, my feeling is that the lower cost, shallow water GOM plays will begin to perk up this fall and really heat up next winter. For a mature area like this, projects are always ginning through the mill, and can simply be dusted off and resumed when the economics play out. The advance intelligence gathering/ summary excercises(seismic, drilling offset information, geotechnical and drilling prognosis) in many cases have already been collated.

Just my 2 cents - but the downgrade looks like one of Slider's money manager judo tricks.

Regards and good luck to all - especially me.

Aggie
