Hi Michael!
I have been considering buying stock in CPU so this last Saturday I decided to see how business was. I went to their flagship store and the descendent of the original store in Addison. At 1pm on a Saturday afternoon there were hardly any customers. They did have a lot of red-shirted kids running around. One of them came up to me while I was looking at the printers. When he asked if he could help I told him I was interested in comparing the capabilities of various photo quality printers. He told me "just a minute", walked away and came back with an Epson salesman! Not quite the unbiased sales assistance one might expect.

Later, I had selected a few items to purchase so I went to the checkout. Only one was open. I stood in line for 5 minutes and made little progress. Ten feet away were four kids at the Customer Service desk. I walked over and suggested to one of them that they should open an additional checkout. He looked at me, said "yeah" and then turned around and talked to his coworkers again. There were no customers at the counter and they made no move to open another checkout.

I then asked where the store manager was. The kid pointed to a guy standing a few feet away. The manager was talking to some friends of his. I told him that they needed another checkout and that their service was lousy. He walked away from me. I followed. He then yelled at the girl behind the corporate desk to check me out. He then walked into his office and closed the door. They never did open a second line and the other customers were still glumly standing in line when I left.

How can one possible invest in a company that treats their customers like they are a bother??? The big shots can make all of the plans they want but if their store managers don't give a damn then why should we shop there???

I think these folks have lost touch with what it takes to run a business.

John
