The most significant thing is that they deliver faster than the publishers are able. I still don't understand how they do this. I placed an order Saturday and I was justed notified it is on it's way. Amazing. Also, any problem is immediately dealt with and resolved.

Glenn, can I suggest to you all that you ask some people that really read vs. the people here about why they like amazon. The whole thing with buying books is information and thats what you get from Amazon's site. Before Amazon if I wanted a book or Elizabethan history I had no real way of determining what was a available and of that, what was any good. This applied to anybody who wanted to read anything above the current bestsellers, Grisham, or Oprah's book club. There was just no way to even see what was out there. Amazon isn't the absolute cheapest (until today) but its within $1.50 of the cheapest usually and the benefits of buying from amazon as a reader far outweigh the additional cost. I think the book clubs on AOL (which are the most active) are in danger of being eclipsed by the amazon site if amzn wants to go in that direction.

I'm not going to make a case for the stock, but this issue of "why buy from amazon" keeps coming up and you guys just don't seem to get that and I don't know why.
