Joe, I think we are in pretty close agreement. Companies like Coke have made me nervous for some time, but not nearly as nervous as companies like AMZN because I could at least imagine a scenario for Coke that might work (pretty optimistic, but nonetheless imaginable). I cannot imagine a scenario that works of AMZN, and that's the point I was making.

I am not shy about investing in high P/E companies with good growth prospects. I am long AOL, DELL and TLAB. With the exception of AOL (which I hedge with options), I can imagine the future for the other two companies as mature. And the implied revenue numbers for those scenarios are not insane. Remember that a mature technology company is expected to grow faster than the general population growth rate because of replacement cycles.
