I believe this investment was made, if my memory serves me right, in 93, under Gil Amelio's watch. Not too much publicly available info. Intersting stuff but tough to tell what it will be worth.

I believe Gilder posted on the Gilder thread that: "the Foveon camera is now in wildly successful beta testing with leading profesional photographers."

Gilder's not lying.

I spoke with a National Semiconductor fab employee (not high level) about whether or not he has every heard of Foveon, and he readily told me that he has and he remarked that the pictures are outstanding- portraits with faint wisps of hair, etc. So apparently the news isn't that close kept, if an employee with nothing to do with the project has knowledge of it.
