Weren't stock car drivers in NASCAR complaining that Dale Earnhart was cheating because there was no way he could achieve the qualifying times that he did had he followed the rules?

Weren't NBA fans, especially New York Knicks fans, complaining that the referees let Michael Jordan get away with too many fouls and violations?

I guess it all depends on your definition of "impartial observer," doesn't it?
