Teflon, the only thing I could mess up is timing a settlement. If they settle, this stock might take off too fast to be able to hitch a ride. However, I am already in enough MSFT stock. I bought stock and options on Friday for some friend and relatives' accounts that i manage. These people are risk takers and have made money on MSFT options and are willing to take some more risks (unlike me).
(july 70s and leaps 2001--90 strike)

I am basically finished with the very risky investment stage. Now it is time for some R and R.

Teflon, as a trader, I have a slightly different perspective (I agree with you *long term*, as an investor, 100%).

Technically a couple of things trouble me. MSFT has made up the Friday decline - great (hopefully it will hold). What troubles me is volume. MSFT declined on 42 million shares. Thus far MSFT is at 27 million. Further, the block interval buying is weakish (thus far).

On the positive side, Friday's decline was external news related (CPI), today institutions seem to be cautiously buying, and MSFT openend up straight out of the gate despite a weak general Nasdaq early on.

What will make me more enthusiastic is if MSFT tries to break 80 today. Otherwise, the rise in MSFT will be short lived, and trouble will be back a few weeks from now.

And of course, I disagree about the trial. I do think it has an impact (negative), on price. I believe the comparison to MSFT's reaction last year to the DOJ is not relevant this year - MSFT's position vis a vis the DOJ is far worse this year (perception).

Good luck.
