I am sure that the Administration had its preferences...I am less worried about Arafat then about groups like Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood...And I wouldn't even worry about them so much if it were not for the guys in charge of Syria, Iraq, and Iran. Even Egypt is not trustworthy, but is in a "cold peace" with Israel, and now that Hussein has died, Jordan may be up for grabs. The Saudis continue to give financial aid to Palestinian activities, and some of the Central Asian hotheads, from places like Afghanistan, are making this into a Muslim fight, not just an Arab one. I would have preferred a bi- national solution in the first place, had it ever been viable, so I am not happy with the status quo, but I am worried that there is little room for error....
