NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 17, 1999--4Kids Entertainment, Inc. (NASDAQ: KIDE), reported today its results of operations for the first quarter which ended on March 31, 1999.

First quarter net revenues increased 35 percent to $3,251,941 compared to $2,403,378 reported for the same period last year. For the quarter, the Company reported net income of $744,630 or $.13 cents per share on a fully diluted basis, compared to last year's first quarter income of $278,303 or $0.5 cents per share adjusted for the 3 for 2 stock split announced by the Company on March 29, 1999.

Alfred R. Kahn, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, commented, "We are pleased with the results for the first quarter of 1999, particularly in comparison to the strong first quarter of 1998, which included significant revenue related to The Electronic Arts Video Game License for World Championship Wrestling. The results for the first quarter of 1999 primarily reflect the success from the licensing of World Championship Wrestling and Pokemon properties. During the first quarter, royalties reported by Toy Biz, the master toy licensee for WCW, accelerated as more product shipped and sold through. REDMOND, Wash.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 17, 1999-- ADVANCED DIGITAL INFORMATION CORPORATION (Nasdaq/NMS:ADIC - news) today announced sales grew by 118 percent to $54.0 million during the second quarter ended April 30, 1999 over the same period last year.

Net income grew 83 percent to $3.5 million, or 35 cents per share, during the period versus $1.9 million, or 20 cents per share, a year ago.

''Second quarter results were, again, the best for any period in our history,'' according to Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Peter van Oppen. The Company noted sales growth accelerated across most product lines resulting in sequential sales growth of ten percent compared to the record revenue reported during first quarter 1999. Both branded and OEM business grew rapidly with OEM business representing approximately 14 percent of total sales for the period.

''Business was particularly strong among our software and Internet related customers during the quarter,'' according to van Oppen. ''Leading portal, e-commerce, software and telecommunications infrastructure companies selected ADIC backup and archive solutions to support their rapidly growing information requirements.'' The Company also noted that traditional business in banking, financial services, manufacturing, research, government and other segments of the economy continued to show strength during the period.
