Yes but one good thing that amzn has is a finite number of suppliers. Dell has many
many more, mostly fly-by-night asian computer parts distributors. I'm not sure which is
worse, more suppliers or more individual piece parts.

Michelle,

I agree with your assessment and we can say with certainty Dell has handled their JIT very well. AMZN has to yet to proved they can do so.

However from an investor standpoint I'm not sure I feel good about an online venture
that simply reverse engineers somebody else's site. It makes me think they don't have
anything creative to add to the party.

Ethically, I am not sure this is proper either. However, it is what it is. I would say we are just as foggy now as we were a year ago except Barnes and Noble had a lot of catching up to do a year ago.

Glenn

Key phrase here is fly-by-night. My Gateway has been a bad dream. I know folks who'd say the same about their Dell's. Yet my old 486 Compaq has always worked like a charm. Bottom Line: price and feature competition has degraded pc quality. jmho.
