George, I agree with you. CMGI will not be the same company in two years. Everything relating to the net is accelerated. Trends, cycles, R&D, mergers, etc. In order to stay afloat CMGI has to think in terms of years where future planning is concerned, or like the chess player, many moves down the road.

When CMGI is analyzed it has to be taken in historical context too. It is a company on the move. The volatility of the past will continue in the near future so investors have to be patient. I have seen so many violent ups and downs since January that I have become desensitized to them. In fact, I am a very small investor, adding to my positions whenever I can with limited resources, but I haven't done so bad in the past year where net stocks are concerned (don't ask me about penny stocks please). I like DW's recent quote, ..."if you can't make money in this business you should be picking oranges."

I just looked over at ClearStation.com and saw two traders close out their long positions this morning BEFORE THE RALLY! Their idea of long-term is probably two days. CMGI has been churning for about three weeks now. In past markets, six weeks of sideways movement was considered normal when leading up to a breakout.

Again, patience is a virtue.

Best wishes and heres to an excellent day for net stocks tomorrow.
Jim
