Globalstar call quality: The CDMA technology utilized by Globalstar may be superior, but in a bent pipe system, the call quality is only as good as the PSTN into which the local gateway dumps the call. What is Globalstar doing to ensure the quality of calls in countries where even an ordinary terrestrial call often fails to go through? Or, if it does go through, the quality is on a par with 2 tin cans connected by a string...?

I agree about over-confidence; there are too many variables to become complacent. Even the new issue of Globalstar's magazine discusses the fact that completing the technological part of the system's launch is just part of the success equation; selling the service is the rest. Ed Staiano at Iridium made that point last September about his company - and boy, was he right!
