gbh re, Dell/HP
FYI, I'm seeing this news item repeated by a number of sources, but that's not what I get out of the report.

"PALO ALTO, Calif. (AP) - Hewlett-Packard Co. (NYSE:HWP - news) beat Wall Street expectations with a 34 percent increase in second-quarter profits, fueled by sales of personal computers."

As for Dell, (not having the breadth of product families of HP), don't you think they will get caught up in the declining PC ASP's? Seem's to me revenues would have to decline to maintain margins. (If they keep targeting the shrinking hi-end market). And HP has a broader line of servers, both Wintel and proprietary, and much higher market share.
I expect Dell to make estimates, but will be very interested in guidance.

Gary, But, since Dell did not ship PIIIs to the channel, I'm sure they will show weaker than expected desktop revenues. <g>
