Doug, I've seen a number of predictions lately that the POG will drop to the US$200 range before improving. Despite what GATA is trying to do, it seems gold's time is now gone. After several millenia of being humans' most trusted friend next to the dog, gold's time is up. No use holding requiems. The Romans had their gold coins. Gold bullion has been prized throughout history. But it's over. The Internet, paper transactions, high tech, etc., have lain dear gold on its back -- with its feet pointing upward. Admit it, Doug. It's over. Every goldmine could close for the next 50 years, and there's still enough gold to go around. Very little gold is actually turned into forms that can't be economically retrieved. Gold's entropy is very very small. To quote Mr. Robinson: "Plastics, my boy, that's the future. Gold's dead!"
