How come it is that all of our wrong choices as well as our so called right choices lead to human catastrophe?

After observing Milosevic and the Serbs first in Bosnia, then in Kosovo, many felt that he would simply continue as he had begun until all of what was once Yugoslavia was united into a greater Serbia. He might then very well continue against neighbors. These observers felt that sooner or later a stand would have to be made, and better sooner than later.

If the allies had joined together and invaded Germany when Hitler first started rounding up Jews, they would surely have unleashed a great human catastrophe, which is what all war is. They might have averted a greater one. We do not know, that is the nature of history.

BTW, the analogy to Iraq is very much overdrawn; no vital natural resources are at stake in Kosovo. Do you see some form of ulterior motive here?
