We had no problem with Saddam before he got bigger ideas that we really liked him.. Again the Mafia thing... We had no problem with Saddam when he was fighting Iran. We took the position that the enemy of our enemy is our friend, which was dumb. We took the same position in Afghanistan, which is why we now have the Taleban waving Stinger missiles and other items of US hardware at us. Dumb, yes, but I don't see it as a "mafia thing". No Profit--- You have to look closer--- We are showing the world that , "A" the UN means Zip--- Some might say that we are trying to show the world that just because you have a friend on the Security Council doesn't mean that you can be an asshole and get away with it. I still don't see any profit in it. More the opposite.
