Well many of the perceivers are idiots, I agree, but a few of them are smarter than either of us. The market is a giant prediction machine. Several studies have shown that if enough people vote on a subject which they know very little about, the average answer usually is very close to the truth. Certainly Mr. Market is right more often than not, but it's the exceptions that allow us to get rich.. My SI motto is to buy quality stocks when they are depressed by either bad news that is temporary in nature,or institutional selling. Since institutions are like lemmings and mostly very short term oriented, the latter may be the most reliable.
