Hi Jim,

1) The Electronic Day Trader by Marc Friedfertig
2) How to Get Started in Electronic Day Trading by David Nassar
3) Trading for a Living by Dr. Alexander Elder

A month ago I knew nothing. Didn't know what a MM was, the difference between the exchanges, basically nothing at all. So here goes a bit of a review from a total beginner.

I first read The Electronic Day Trader. It was a really quick read and it did explain a lot of basic concepts. Just about everything was told through examples. Many of the concepts were explained by starting with -- ok, so say INTC is trading at 59 x 60, and it's the opening after a strong... you get the idea. It was very much a narrative in that sense. I did feel like I got a couple of basic strategies out of it, but this book definitely isn't everything I wanted to know.

Next came Nassar's book. This one is a pretty good read too. It explains a lot more concepts and after reading the first book, everything read fairly easy. Definitely a good book to get, it's got a little bit of everything in there. Plus it's fairly recent - published in 1999.

I'm waiting for Trading for a Living to arrive. I think Kimberly Lee mentioned that one. I have a feeling that one is going to be more technical and grueling to go through. It even has a companion workbook. Looking forward to checking that one out. Published in 1994, but still recommended by many. Sounds like it has some good foundation material in there.
