It is well known that Jack Welch of GE has a mantra....If it isn't a growing business and we can't be number one or number 2, we don't need to be in the business" Don't kid yourself, GE has not held anything back in their effort to win the portal wars....Granted it isn't over, but They are a distant ninth....If the business meets GE's criteria and they want to be in the businbess, than maybe you should consider that you aren't looking at the portal business correctly.........How profitable do you think NBC was in year 1,2,3,4,or 5....What about the telephone business, or cable....these people can see further than the next 12 weeks, they are buiklding companies, not quarterly reports.......I think you should re-consider your absolute negativity on the portal business....
