Lars: Re: "What is your target in next few months (for AMAT)?"

As I said last week, my target for this week is at least $68 given good guidance by the company and an earnings surprise. My target for the next few months (August) could be upwards of $100 per share. This latter price target is dependent upon analyst cooperation and overall market environment. In order to achieve this goal, analysts must revise earnings upwards for the year going forward to at least $2.75 per share in the current interest rate environment. Analysts are currently at $2.20 for AMAT FY 00. Forget the technical charts and the stair stepping stuff because without analyst help this stock will not achieve this price target.

Note: I will most likely be taking trading profits this week through next Tuesday on AMAT and others dependent upon the price achieved. I expect there is a probability of a 10% to 15% correction in AMAT price from the post earnings peak running through mid June.

Further note: ETEC earnings tomorrow. I would watch this one closely.
