gran:<selling on the news> My point of view is, that with Dell we have to know that we are the juiciest target on the whole market. '''''I have learned that AT THE MOMENT when you feel you have a sure thing coming---THAT MOMENT,is when you are in a whole lot of trouble. '''''Part of the problem, is that the COMPANY is run with the highest of ethical standards. It lulls us into expecting that perhaps the MARKET is going to learn a lesson from us. '''''UNFORTUNATELY as you well know, if they can find the SLIGHTEST reason to take this damn thing down long enough to buy for their buddies, THEY WILL. The reason we have a hard time understanding this, is that we like to play fair. ''''' Pretend instead, that you have a really twisted, sick mind, and that you obsess about hurting any aspect of dell. As you well know, with your background, there are probably about 20,000 persons in New York City alone, who would actually enjoy such ideas. '''''As you in particular well know, Dell gets UNIQUE attention----for many many reasons. Many many people are very jealous of everything about Dell. Even at the Federal level---government, business, small business, large business, Lou G., the chinese government, ----is there anyone who has not heard the dell story? '''''Our MOST powerful weapon against all of this, is the slow continuation of the ruthless focus of the company. NOTHING should be done to please the gxd damned market---pardon the expression. THE CUSTOMER---how to expand the relationship, how to make it more united with the internet---how to provide services in creative ways no one can even afford to implement (except dell)....THIS is the ONLY "need" of the company. '''''The real secret weapon of the company, is to ignore everything except the customer. There is more than enough money outside and inside the company, to encourage and expand the existing focus.
