Chuckie - Re: "Completely agree with fisher and regret having bought AMD years back."

Sooooooo..............

You are one of the BIG LOSERS trying to sucker unsuspecting folks into buying this AMDog, driving up the price so you can bail out without a LOSS !

You're just like the SCUMbrias, Manis', and Drevbertererssr !

Wanted to say something to this thread before I go to bed tonite.
I have been chasing AMD news for the last 3 weeks. Spent a whole bunch of time reading up, talking to people, corresponding through e-mails and walking into Frys and other PC stores and doing every other thing that I could do and including staying on top of research from 3 different analysts on AMD/INTC.
Until 3 weeks back I neither had the time nor the inclination. Three weeks back I was sitting on a lossy AMD position and wondering, after disappointments on K5 and K6, if my investment was going to return something at least this time around. I saw a chance to bring down my cost position to low 20s and benefit from a "internet"-like stock price appreciation. After holding the stock for multiple years, I was not sure if this stock is an investment opportunity that I originally bought it for or just a trading opportunity.
Today, finally, a leading analyst's research concurred with pretty much everything I have found over the last 3 weeks. So, I have bought some more in an effort to bring my average cost closer to $20.
However, I am not convinced that AMD has this nailed down. I will not believe AMD can execute unless I see large quantities of K7 soon. I think AMD can pull it off, but, I am prepared to be a trader and trade out after the next run-up, if AMD goofs up one more time. (that probably would be the last time for me)
If some of the people on the thread think I am a hypester, there is not much I can do disprove that thoery. Most of what I said today has been independently verified by Dan Niles. If he is a hype-ster, I guess we have been taken by the same sources. I would recommend people reading up the latest analyst reports and talking to some of them (if you have the access). Not that the analysts know more than what the people on this thread know but they do their due-diligence a lot better because their paycheck depends on their calls. Eveyone on this thread hears from Tad and it is not that difficult to get hold of what Morgan Stanley or Robertson Stephens or Piper Jaffrey is saying.
I do my research, I put money where my mouth is and if I lose that is my problem. Do your own research and trust the people you want to trust.
I will, however, reduce my postings to SI unless I get excited by a "substantial" happening. As Scumbria says so often - June is just x weeks away. For me June is "show me" time for AMD - i will decide if I will trade or invest.

Good Luck,
Chuck
