British Pound Comes Into the IMF's Cross Hairs:

London, May 17 (Bloomberg) -- They're at it again. After
wrecking Asian currencies with a series of competitive
devaluations and a host of other misplaced policies, the
International Monetary Fund is going to try its hand at sterling.
''The Treasury and Bank of England may need to take
'specific actions' to weaken the pound if Britain wishes to join
the European single currency,'' according to an IMF study cited
in today's Financial Times.
