I have made clear that I don't approve of this particular action, and consider it a failure of diplomacy, and a misconceived military operation. I did support Operation Desert Storm, for reasons I have earlier discussed, but I agree with brees that the sanctions are futile and cruel, and that the desultory bombing is beginning to seem a bit ridiculous. I am both a good fellow and a conservative:-)...In fact, in this instance it is mainly conservatives who have been critical of the action, sometimes to the point of not supporting it at all. The argument we had earlier abut Clinton's responsibility is an example of the difficulty you have had accepting that this is a liberal war: with inadequate justification according to national interest criteria, an aura of self- righteous intransigence, and an utter lack of understanding of military power....
