America Online (AOL 135 3/4 +10 1/4) surged on news that DLJ named stock a "top pick" and recommended buying AOL in advance of the upcoming analyst meeting to be held tomorrow as DLJ expects positive presentations from management... Price target is 200.

TO ALL - this looks to good to be true. Anyone know what's going on? Looking to make a quick buck, consider Platinum Technology (PLAT 24 3/8)... Company to be acquired by HardMetal, Inc., a wholly owned merger subsidiary of Computer Associates (CA 41 3/4 -7/16)... Latter recently extended its offer to purchase all outstanding shares of common stock of Platinum technology International, inc. for $29.25 until 12:00 midnight ET on Wednesday, May 19, 1999... Extension of the tender offer made to allow the DOJ's Antitrust Division time to complete its investigation... From where we stand, deal looks to be a lock; which, if true, would result in short-term pop of 20%.
