Zeem, that's Kumar's M.O. isn't it.

"We are not so much concerned about the April quarter," U.S. Bancorp Piper Jaffray analyst Ashok Kumar said of the his brokerage's expectations for Dell results. "We are concerned about the outlook for the second half of the year," he said.

Same horsebleep he pulled w/ CPQ 3Q'98. Stock moved from 25-26 to 40.

But on the flip side, the financial media are slowly catching on to how they're being played:

"Right now the direction seems to be very negative," Kumar said of his darkening view of Dell's outlook for the second-half, which comes in spite of his continued recommendation to clients to buy Dell stock.

Cut the thing then.

But don't keep on grin-f***king everyone.

If the general theory is "we see reasons for concern ahead, but, heck, it's such a great company, you should buy it", well then, what's his job function other than to get exposure for his firm as they attempt to move out of regional also-ran status?

Good trading,

Tom
