Isn't there a wash sale period to observe, so that the loss can be be reported to the IRS? Somebody realizing a loss on May-13 would have to wait 30 days. So the loss sellers may come back progressively over a 1 month period, depending on when they sold.
RIG saw a sharp rise from Apr-14 to Apr-20 (roughly), so many tax loss sellers may have been prompted to sell just after that. Will most of them come back buying around May-20?
