It was the TSE part that threw me :) A layer of 'credibility', I thought.....
I'm not sure that TSE has OTC, but that they are other markets , will confirm this today
Thanks
ynot :)

Re: NKCIF. This link will give a corporate overview. newkidco.com

NewKidCo was formerly Softquad and was full NASDAQ until last fall. Their IPO came out in 1996 at $10 and drifted south. Their main product was HoTMetal. Last year they completely changed course and now do children's (Sesame Street) video games for Playstation and Nintendo. They seem to have completely turned around with a profitable Q1 and have regularly reported financials since 1996. They are looking to go NASDAQ NMS as soon as possible.

Rande,

I've tried out a noise reduction module in the home studio recently. After a long while, I feel I can vouch for it.

I got it through Sam Adams Music (no relation to the brewer & patriot) for about $200, which is about as low as the price gets. It uses something called "parity check noise attenuation".

Because it has a very low impedance, it is able to launch into overdrive on the slightest boost. Mine is a rackmount, and for the price, it delivers great gain into the record banks.

I think it'll be a very popular unit. Let me know what you think if you get a chance to look into it. I can send you the specs if you like.

regarding OTC in Toronto: yes they the risk of of scams is high, except that it is controlled by Ontario securities commission which controls the TSE. the risks on OTC are regarding that the mm's can make any price which is like any Nasdaq stock on the pinksheets. The difference is although I think the pinksheets are a bigger scam, I have yet to lose money on a stock on the pinksheets. This compares with I have yet to make a profit on an OTC stock.
conclusion coming from a canadian: avoid OTC.
