<<I have placed my bets, how about you?>> - since I'm holding on to my long-term MSFT shares, and I'm very bullish over the next 2-3 years, I guess my bets are obvious for now. As to cable/DSL - I suppose one need not vanquish the other.

The question for me becomes, what becomes further out, beyond the next 2-3 years. I figure by then a lot of current MSFT strategy vis a vis broadband will become a lot more clear - and based on that as well as the overall prospect, I'll make my decision going forward from there.

Re: Ballmer. I agree completely - outstanding manager. What impressed me immensely was the fact that he is so aggressive about reinventing MSFT, and cutting through the red tap. The guy LISTENS. This is incredibly important. And he is willing to go all out to do what's right - not a seat-warmer as so many CEOs out there are.

On another note - what a funky market right now! And SFE continues to amaze.
