Howard, I like First Australia Prime, but we are talking about a different animal from the preferreds and US bonds. I think the Aussie buck is cheap vs. the dollar and some money can be made in this one. They do have a fairly pricey mgt. fee for an income fund, but almost all the foreign ones do.

They have averaged 2 1/2% for the last five years, while the US buck has gone bonkers on the upside, but 7 1/2% over 10 years. That makes me think they are due for a spate of outperformance.

I also do not like the US dollar with our trade deficit and consumer and corporate debt all tilting at or near all time highs.
