Neocon: Uncle Max likely has a good friend who is black. The problem with understanding Concrete Personalities, as opposed to Developmental Concreteness, is the former have no choice to abstract. The conclusions that blacks are worthless is valid to a Con-Pers, because it is validated by real incidents. His conclusion is Not Invalidated by contradictions in the abstract. Contradictions are pervasive in lives who choose not to abstract. They deal with them. The accounting/calculus [poor] example was meant to show that abstract ability does not allow transfer across disciplines. Uncle Max may have achieved a BEE, but it impacts nothing on his sociological abstractions. The place on the axis is innate and developmental. On that axis it is not moved by training. Another axis, I referred to as Stretch, would allow a Concrete to think like an Abstract. This is what BC learned at Oxford. When stressed, a person returns to his innate/developmental area. This is what happened to BC under the stress surrounding the defrauding. Finally, an obvious axis is how broad your original, I/D, area is. A broad areaed person can do some Abstract and some Concrete thinking without stretch. Where, on the axis of Abstract and Concrete, one lies is due to the several cultures, and the genes, you get. It remains all but constant for life. [Parsing this sentence is an entire post, to itself]. It is higher order thought comes with maturation. Higher order thought does not transfer between higher order problems [Accounting and Calculus], nor does higher order thinking mass into Abstract Personality. Concretes use higher order thinking for specific problems. Specific problems involving specific concrete referrands. You know Spreadsheet wiz's who can't figure this years income tax. Chefs/cooks who have figured out the minute nuances of several dishes, but who can't be trusted with a hamburger. High order thinking can be trained, once the biology is complete. Abstract/Concrete personalities can not, beyond the developmental stage. Likewise, Abstract personalities are not a superset of Concrete personalities. Rote practice or memorization is torture for most Abstracts, and remains so for life. Concretes prefer it. They are as different people as Male and Female, sans the obvious, adding the Analog. The race needs both.
