Wally: With Greenshades carrying a "neutral" briefcase today, and with the markets ending the day virtually flat, this appears to be as good an indicator as any on the Fed's intentions. Leading me to wonder, why not avoid all the meetings and speechmaking and just let Greenshades hang a big, little or medium-size briefcase out his office window occasionally, and save us all a lot of time, trouble and nail-biting.
