Re: "THE STOCK SEEMS TO BE GROPING FOR SUPPORT, WITH SOME SUCCESS, AT THE 19 LEVEL." DARBES, AMD is not "groping for support." It is attempting to overcome an overhead resistance. Support is now at 18. If you can get AMD at 18 and change, it should be a good "low" buy. Good luck. Richard

Darbes...

<< days of obtaining it at really bargain prices may be behind us >>

Are you being optimistic? What will drive this stock up?

Positively:
1). K7 imminent announcement.
2). Yields have improved dramatically (we've heard that one before).
3). Some competition folding up their tents.

Negatively:
1). Nasty on-going red ink hemorrage...horrible Q2(?).
2). Massive price WAR driving ASPs ever lower...chipzilla's getting really nasty.
3). New credit restrictions imposed...signs of low confidence?
4). Massive new costs associated with Dresden coming on-line.
5). Shareholder lawsuits

Unknowns:
1). How soon will K7 help out? ...(3 months, 6 months, must we wait for Dresden with .18u?)
2). How good will K7 really be? ...the bottom-line cure? ...what will be the competitive response?
3). Will Dresden come on-line nicely? What about CU?
4). What comes next...K8, K9?
5). Whither AMD management?

Please help me out...I need to get back in.

regards, Dan

DRBES - RE: "The stock is trading on really light volume."

I don't know what the volume was when you posted that, but it is now almost 1.2 mil with 3 hours left in the market on an overall low volume day.
