Bob: I am on the very tail end of the Boom, and that means that you who are 8 (?) years younger are a Gen Xer anyway, I guess...Certainly not, as PiMac assumes, a geezer...

Bob, I must ask, to whose post did your thesis give response? <want it all now.> Was this the first time a surprise response from you was tangential to a thread on which I'd been working?

<think they're smarter than everyone else,> <Huh?>

<and believe that nothing is their fault.>
My father, a WWII vet, had a habit of saying, "We're not talking about me. We're talking about you." I thought, at the time, that having one possible source of any and every problem did make simple all conclusions.

The man also was fond of the expression, "Don't contradict me." Again this simplified the conversation, since half the participants didn't have to clarify their meaning or the facts. In fact, simply replying "I'm not", to the above was met with the same, "Don't contradict me." And, I can't argue with that. Since you, Bob, have assumed the role of champion for him and his generation, I can't argue with you.
