I thought I should drop by to say hello, and tell you that from here it looks to me like Apple is lining up its chips to buy Pilot off 3Com.

Pure speculation of course, but that is how it looks....

AAPL just seems to be going sideways for the moment. I see Max-Pain as reflecting market expectations about where the stock price will go - what options big holders are selling and maybe smaller ones are buying. But people dealing in options aren't the entire market for the actual stock and so it's going to be an imperfect indicator.
