Hi Dale/all, Dale, Did you pull the trigger on VMIX and ANIK? Both showing signs of life. ANIK is stirring IMO on the speculation that brighter days are coming, and individual investors want to get in on the "Ground floor." The buys are mostly little ones, but as you can see, they move the stock a lot--either way. This might be an option play. IMO, there will be nothing substantial in the way of FDA action for another 6 to 9 months, but last time around the stock moved well in advance on the crowd psychology. Looks like it's happening again. If you want in, I'd ratchet up my limit buy. Should have advised you on that earlier since ANIK was propping up the price higher than the number you had set (4 5/8??). VMIX is a different story. I bet too early before and said "the hell with it" when the price settled back down after a little spurt that looks like what we are getting now. There have been some significant 5 figure buys over the last couple of days and vol. is up. Maybe the word is getting out and VMIX is finally running. UVEW is having a good day too. Methinks it has more to do with someone spamming the message boards than anything fundamental happening. Where did I read something about that? What is your opinion of CHDX? It sets up deals between US/China. Had been beaten down after new export rules had held down revs/earnings. Looks like it is learning how to cope with them based on latest earnings report. Price/book and price/sales are <1.0 even after spike today. My DD is just a quicky once-over, but CHDX looks pretty good--assuming that we aren't going to start lobbing missiles at each other <gg>. Jim PS. Thanks for your comments re. a dedicated hi speed line and charting services. You are right of course. However, that would make me start thinking that I HAVE to trade every day. Right now it's more of a hobby with little pressure or overhead, I spend no more than a half hour or so a day in the trading mode (more than that sniffing around the net--but I don't need anything fancy to do that). I know I can do or not do it on any given day. Also, I think there is a lot to be said about the theory that we are motivated more by the fear of failure than the drive for success. So we do a lot of rationalizing (ie making excuses)--coulda, shoulda like I did yesterday. It limits our agressiveness, and sometimes causes us to make bad decisions--as in buying at the peak, because because we are more comfortable being part of the herd and are afraid to make a commitment at the beginning of a run. On the other hand, our confidence isn't damaged, because we can always blame something/someone else for our failures--or as I did yesterday my whining that I coulda made more if I only had L2. Of course, having just said all that, I might just change my mind re. L2 and dedicated line--Emerson you know. Enough philosophy for now. Hope all our little family is having a great day!
