Mark, if you're using a 56K modem you should be fine. Also, extra RAM makes all the difference in the world. I'm using a PII300 notebook with 128K RAM and a 56K modem through AOL as the ISP. Works like a charm...

>>>I am trying to figure out if I need another computer
+ a cable modem, or if I can just get by with a cable
modem to increase my speed with e-signal

Mark...computer's slow to the weakest link in the chain theory.
You could have a Pentium III 500 Mhz, but if you have an old
slow hard drive, etc. you won't extract the performance levels
you want. Are you hooked up to @Home or another cable provider?

If so, you should immediately order a new P.C., keep your
monitor if it's good. If not, scratch it for a 17"-19" Flat
Screen, you'll be amazed at the difference.

Here are a few links to get you started, any questions PM
or post to me- I used to sell computers (should probably
go back to doing that)........Regards, Skane
