As a former owner of TNRG, I still follow it. The key to all spinoffs is the EX DIVIDEND date. That is the date that counts. The record date is purely a housekeeping issue,i.e., the date that determines if the future dividend sells with the stock or not.

What is interesting is why all the prior releases placed such emphasis on the date of record rather than the ex dividend date...until today.

BTW, does anyone have an estimate for the ex dividend date?
