SB,
Just got off the phone with ICC who handles the I/R for ZMAX. Was told ZMAX has 4 offices and is definitely in a growth mode. Also was told they are currently working on other acquisitions. Not sure if it meant more contracts or something else, as no details were given or expected. Was also told that ICC is paid $5000 per month for their duties- no stock. Reasonable. Most of the details of the company are in their Web site.
Kindest regards,
DD

Company Also Hires Industry Expert, Edward Markowitz, To Expand its Enterprise Resource Planning Practice

GERMANTOWN, Md.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 15, 1999--ZMAX Corporation (NASDAQ:ZMAX - news) today announced the opening of a new office in Boston, Massachusetts, establishing a new regional presence in New England.

''A key element of our growth strategy is the establishment of branch offices throughout the United States,'' notes ZMAX President and Chief Executive Officer Michael C. Higgins. ''We plan to offer a comprehensive portfolio of information technology services to current and prospective customers through these branch offices, and the opening of the Boston office is a major step in building our presence in the New England area.''

Steven Paul will head the Boston office. Before joining ZMAX, Paul led The Prism Group, an executive recruiting firm based in Boston which he founded in 1993 and sold in early 1999. Previously, he spent nine years in software sales and marketing.

With the opening of the Boston office, the Company now has six offices in three U.S. regions--New England, the Mid-Atlantic and the Midwest.

According to Higgins, ''Geographic expansion is key to our Company providing local, personalized service to our clients, to identify and cultivate new customers, and to expand our operations throughout the United States.''

''In parallel,'' he adds, ''we will continue to build our technology capabilities and leadership that will be available throughout all branch offices and provide our customers, regardless of their location, with the best possible IT solutions.''

Edward A. Markowitz has been recruited to head the Company's enterprise resource planning (ERP) practice. Prior to joining ZMAX, Markowitz was an independent ERP consultant, having advised and served as chief operating officer for a number of information technology and start-up companies, as well as providing consulting services for a variety of multinational companies throughout the world.

Earlier in his career, Markowitz managed the internationally acclaimed Institute of Advanced Manufacturing Science at the University of Cincinnati. He holds a Bachelor of Science and Masters of Science Degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and has done doctoral work at Harvard University.

''We are extremely pleased to have Ed Markowitz join our Company,'' notes Higgins. ''He is an SAP-certified executive with a record of successful enterprise resource planning in multi-national, multi-implementation environments. Ed combines high-level strategic thinking with a hands-on approach to ERP implementations, and he is a well-known speaker and author on the subject. Markowitz has been described by SAP as a 'recognized authority in areas of production and materials management, supply chain, and maintenance,' and his experience ranges from project, operations and information technology consulting for small companies to project management for a Fortune 50 transnational implementation. He has provided advisory assistance to hundreds of clients. We look forward to having Ed Markowitz lead ZMAX's continued expansion efforts in the enterprise resource planning arena.''

According to Higgins, the Company also plans to hire an executive to lead a new management consulting practice that will ensure that business processes, strategies and technology solutions are integrated effectively and seamlessly for its customers.
