>>What will they do next?...<<

Start letting people go, outsourcing their web business, and cutting artists' royalties for download sales.

Cheers,
Bond

Make it FREE! Just like TV!

Now, this is a curve-ball isn't it?

We have free TV, BUT commercials is where the money is... Right?

So, why not have free Music, BUT with commercials, to get the money everyone is so worried about?

Wouldn't that be something? (yuk, really)
But it might work...

Sell advertising, small little audio clips to precede each song as part of each song.

Promote piracy (the more that hear the ads, the better... right?).

The compression codec (whatever it is) would have to be CLOSED so it could not be edited to CUT the commercials from the content.

OK... Just an idea...

I, personally, wouldn't like it (but I don't like most of the TV commercials either).

Wouldn't that approach make all this talk just a waste of time?

Sell advertising, promote copying & free distribution, and pay the artists more than they would've received the old-fashioned way.

Something to think about...(?)

OOPS... what would happen to EDIG?
The best, easiest to use, fastest, cheapest, etc. player would win.
