Isn't IBM's "gekko" PowerPC slated for Nintendo , maybe home networks

One of IBM's objectives is to develop a low cost home network . Looks like Matsushita and Nintendo may be players :

" May 18, 1999 (TOKYO) -- Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd. signed an agreement with Nintendo Co., Ltd. to jointly develop and supply digital home appliances.

By incorporating the functionality of Nintendo's next-generation home video game machines into its DVD products, Matsushita Electric aims to gain market penetration for its DVD products and home network-enabled products of the future.

The two companies plan to develop three categories of products:
(1) video game machines for playing next-generation game software (code-named "Dolphin" and sold under the Nintendo brand),
(2) video game machines equipped with existing DVD player functions (sold under the Matsushita brand), and
(3) a digital platform with video game capability, able to control the devices connected to a home network code-named "X-21" and sold under the Matsushita brand).

Matsushita will supply the digital input/output devices . The IBM "gekko" PowerPC order to supply Nintendo is in the $1 bln range .

What would be real interesting is which computer company is going to supply the "home" computer to Matsushita .
