I agree, but my point was that MD never said they would be.
He said he found it hard to predict if they would be, or not.

I don't think MD is arrogant, very few companies can claim
the consistent financial performance that Dell produces.
The market has new, different perceptions of Dell. It could
be said (and has been) that Dell stock has outpaced the
financial performance of the company itself. Now, it seems
we are paying for that, allowing the underlying earnings
to increase Q by Q while the stock price stays fairly static.

I'd be happy if the stock grew at the underlying profit-growth-rate,
anything else is gravy...

Dell Investors: I recently bought Dell shares, tho I have followed Michael Dell's career many years, with admiration. Please note that it was not too many months ago that Dell surpassed $1 Million in daily Internet sales; now we see a full $18 Million per day- at this accelerating rate we could see $6.5 Billion in Internet sales per year; simply amazing.

Remember that Gerstner touted IBM made $2 Billion in Internet related activity; Dell's Internet sales at 30% of total revenues, currently would be $1.6 Billion./revenues.
The growth and performance of this company is unparalleled in the computer hardware market, and positioning the company to grow in Asia and Latin America represents potentials that could generate tremendous additional revenue/profit opportunities.
This company is well positioned to profit from the growth of the Internet, and that is were shareholders will continue to realize growth in share value.
