Paul,

It's going to be tough for AMD to make a profit on that 184 sq. mm. bugger.

Rumor is that K7 is a blazing couple of percent faster than Celeron- just like PIII.

Hey Paul! Anand doesn't Think so! No to 450! No to 500!

(You think they JACKED UP the voltage to 12 volts!)

99/05/18, 1:50pm - Very interesting. Anand put up a thingie on E3 in which it is mentioned that K7 will be released at 550MHz and 600MHz, no mention of 500MHz. Makes sense, since they can only afford to price this processor so low. Hmm...a mention of the asynchronous memory stuff; nothing new there, but it's nice to know that they're committed to the PC133 memory standard -- I just wish they toyed some more with the memory interleaving stuff. Note: I now make a futile wish for low volume 650MHz offerings of the K7 at intro. <g>

Paul - RE: "Re: "Intel adds unexpected June price cut to schedule "

I wouldn't be surprised if Intel released their 500 MHz Celeron at
the same time."

AMD has also hinted they, too, will release a 500MHz K6-2 around June.

RE:"I wouldn't be surprised if Intel released their 500 MHz Celeron at the

Paul, the 500 MHz Celeron is a done deal. Unfortunately, it still has a 66 Mhz bus.
