Tench,

Re: "This is starting to look a lot like the old Commodore 64 or Atari home computers which connected up to TV sets and came with no built-in disk drives or storage devices. Remember those"

Actually I do remember those.

But think:

Digital VCRS with 20Gb cacapcity - with firewire network
HDTV displays with firewire to your home entertainment network.
Game console CPU - pretty good graphics that runs Linux.

And your home network will be linked to your $500 home PC network for additional filesharing with printers etc.

Regards,

Kash

Kash/Ten, "will Sony take over the PC world through encroachment by an entry from gaming gear."

Let's modify the debate away from the tactic of how encroachment could occur, but onto the broader question:

Will the overseas PC/TV crew broadside the USA PC crew on the low-end?

I think this is worth debating.
