No actually i meant exactly what i said, maybe it wasn't phrased properly.

If a market maker is looking to short some stock and there is limited buying pressure they will flash fake bids to create the appearance of demand. This action draws all us traders into the stock as we think the stock may move up as a result of the large size on the buy side.

Once the MM are filled they then flip the size to the offer side ( or the sell side. creating the downward pressure. At this time they are now short and will continue to pressure the stock downward
