Mega Site on the Internet

CHATSWORTH, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 18, 1999--In a bid to become the Internet destination site of choice for
Data Information Technologies, MRV Communications Inc. (NASDAQ:MRVC - news) Tuesday announced plans to rapidly
launch a multilingual global technology mega site.

The new site is expected to provide the World community with an Internet site devoted solely to technology news, products

high-technology products from multiple vendors including routers, switches, software, E-Commerce solutions, network
integration, network security and product auctions.

In addition, strong technology news content addressing the primary areas of Internet and networking technology will be offered.
Services will include a worldwide technical support forum, a network integration unit, vendor Web stores, and promotional,
marketing and advertising services.

President and CEO of MRV Communications Noam Lotan stated: ''This mega site is the cornerstone of our new Internet
strategy. The world is quickly learning that leading companies with infrastructure, products and services will eventually dominate
Internet space and become 'category killers' in their respective industries.''

The mega site is currently under development and will be managed by a new MRV company, based in Chatsworth, that will
integrate many of MRV's existing online networking and Internet resources.

ahhh, the new "Dot.Com" strategy for boosting the value of the stock!

Anything that's a Dot.Com these days soars even when there's nothing in the way of fundamentals to support the lofty heights.

Hell, look what it did for Ascend - their cafeteria is called
DOT.COMmissary! (true - there was a contest to name it and that was the winner) $20 Billion buyout by Lucent - maybe it's not just a coincidence!

So why aren't we up 120% today?
