I used to drive by that intersection quite a lot.

In fact, those buildings were situated on a site formerly occupied by a grade school - which was torn down by the City Fathers - since it was "surplus" - no longer needed.

Five years later, there was a shortage of grade school classrooms !

Local politics at its best !
