Scott, good comments.

I don't think there was much Dell could have done to impress the market. If they came in below estimates, they would have tanked. At estimates, not impressive. Above estimates, and the talking heads would have talked about unsustainable growth for a company of this size. Greg M and others are right IMHO when they say that Dell will need to grow into its multiple.

Still good things ahead for this company and its shareholders.

Good Morning Scott,

I believe you are correct indeed in your assessment. The expectations are raised to high with Dell and the correct pre announcement of first call estimates by Banc First Bostong and Painewebber is just plain bullshit. Somebody is giving these guys the inside information prior to the formal publication. That is why the stock gets beat up even though Dell is running a very profitable company. If the first call was believed to be 13cents then the announcement of 16cents would have sparked a rally right. Michael needs to know how to play this public relations game and fire who ever is causing the inside leaks
